Job Summary
Responsible for following manufacturing instructions to perform production and shipping related duties to ensure on-time production and shipment of product while adhering to high standards of quality, safety and customer service.
What will you do?
* Operates production equipment in a manner consistent with training and work instructions to ensure safety and the highest level of product quality.
* Prepares mixing vessels, necessary pumps and hoses for unloading. Inspects all containers prior to filling for cleanliness and integrity.
* Fills containers as prescribed in the associated batch ticket, pick ticket, and or export order sheet and prepares containers for shipment including labelling, palletizing and wrapping and completes work orders in JDE.
* Maintains neat, thorough and correct completion of all batch related documentation. Calculates batch yields and responds appropriately.
* Store and stage inventory in assigned areas for batch preparation, further processing and/or shipping.
* Assist in tracking material inventory and performing inventory counts, make inventory transfers in JDE.
* Loads and unloads box trucks and flat-beds, tanker trucks and rail cars, either manually or using proper material handling equipment.
* Load containerized and bulk raw materials to production vessels.
* Complete shipping responsibilities including; receive PO's in JDE, ship items in JDE, communicate late shipments to OTC group.
* Prepare UPS and FedEx shipments and call trucks for shipment.
* Maintains a clean and organized work area and strictly adheres to all plant safety policies.
* Provides immediate containment, reporting and clean-up/recovery of spilled material or leaks.
* Operates all types of Forklifts and other related motorized vehicles in a safe and proficient manner.
* Holds team members accountable for safety and quality procedures. Routinely participate in site safety committee.
* Assists in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints.

Work Environment/EHS/Physical Demands:
Will work in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The associate is exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock and trip and slip hazards. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is loud.
Ability to lift bags and other containers up to 50 pounds in a safe manner as directed. Ability to move drums up to 500 pounds with mechanical equipment in a safe manner as directed. May be required to stand for long periods and walk great distances daily. May be required to work in small spaces and high locations.

Summary:
The Chemical Operator position will assist in meeting the schedule by completing assignments. The position will participate in daily ‘huddles' to discuss continuous improvement opportunities and filling out visual production boards.
The Chemical Operator position will typically work 12-hour shifts. The schedule for “Night Shift” is 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Over a 2-week period, associates are typically scheduled to work three (3) 12-hours days one week, followed by four (4) 12-hour days the following week, or vice versa. Candidates must be willing to work additional days as required. Initial training may be on Day Shift (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) until sufficiently trained to work night shift.
Responsibilities:
Monitors batch while in process and make any adjustments as required. Properly communicates to supervisor when it appears that a goal or deadline will not be met.
Measure and mix chemicals according to specified formulas.
Monitor and adjust process variables such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates.
Follows all provisions of operating instructions. Responsible for the completion and accuracy of all batch ticket data entry. Responsible for meeting standard batch ticket cycle times while maintaining safety and quality.
Perform quality control checks on finished products. Monitors quality of output and takes appropriate action, including shutdown of process, to prevent or limit production. Follows all quality policies and production procedures to ensure quality product is produced.
Operates and monitors chemical processing equipment - Follow standard operating procedures to ensure safe and efficient production.
Stages raw materials and puts away finished product. Responsible for raw material and finished goods location integrity. Package and label finished products for shipment.
Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Technical manufacturing experience in a chemical facility a bonus.
Standing for extended periods of time, ability to lift, push and pull up to 55 pounds frequently, exposure to outside conditions and ability to work any shift.
Previous experience in chemical manufacturing or related field preferred.
Familiarity with machining, packaging, warehouse, or materials handling is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and instructions.

The Fort Hill site is a Process Safety Management (PSM)-regulated facility that produces sulfuric acid in multiple concentrations. Products are shipped via rail cars, tank trucks, and totes.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):
Operate mobile equipment such as manlifts, forklifts, yard-dogs, and track mobiles.
Operate, monitor, and control plant equipment; visually inspect and assess system conditions.
Recognize and respond to abnormalities in high-hazard work areas to ensure personnel, environmental, and community safety.
Follow, review, and revise SOPs, maintenance, and safety procedures (if qualified).
Prepare equipment for maintenance by isolating, clearing, and locking out.
Operate industrial boilers and assist in site team participation or leadership.
Train new operators, emphasizing safety and environmental standards.
Start up and shut down plant systems (normal and emergency).
Troubleshoot equipment and restore it to normal operation.

Position Summary
As a Chemical Operator, you will be responsible for producing and packaging products according to instruction provided to meet customer specifications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
