He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Academy of Nursing, National Academy of Practice, and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership as well as being credentialed as a nursing executive advanced, board-certified by ANCC.

Dr. Edmonson is well known for his success in elevating the nursing leadership role and creating collegial teams across the clinical delivery continuum. He is a highly sought after national speaker and a published author of articles and a co-author and contributor to several books. Dr. Edmonson has served on the board of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership and is currently on the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He is an alum of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellow program. Throughout his tenure as a nurse leader, he has initiated and led innovative programs to advance clinical quality, education, professional practice, patient experience and safety, and clinician safety.
