• Collaborates with Fleet Maintenance Manager in regards to priorities for scheduled inspections, maintenance, and repairs of buses and other District vehicles.
• Communicates with Fleet Maintenance Manager concerning the status of and interruptions to the completion of work assigned to mechanics.
• Assigns work to mechanics, monitors quality, and supervises performance to assure compliance with applicable Federal and State safety regulations.
• Monitors fleet maintenance staffs' and visitors' compliance with safety practices and informs Fleet Maintenance Supervisor of corrective action taken.
• Oversees inspection, maintenance, performs repair, and installation-removal of specialized equipment, such as bus-vehicle surveillance systems, Zonar GPS units and related equipment; and informs Fleet Maintenance Manager of irregularities and problems.
• Responds to service calls to repair or arrange for towing buses or other District vehicles.
• Assists mechanics with diagnosing and troubleshooting various automotive, mechanical, and related problems.
• Assists in assessing breakdowns, accidents, and emergency situations; takes corrective action; and road-tests buses and other District vehicles as necessary.
• Assists in evaluating vehicle inspection reports and input of vehicle repairs performed on work order into vehicle maintenance software programs as necessary.
• Assists in maintenance of accurate records of fleet repairs, repair costs, parts procurement, vehicle warranties, and etc., to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Oversees software system used to issue HID Proxy Card, Zonar card, and related devices integrated with automated fuel dispensing, building access, and related records.
• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
• Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED and five years of related experience as a journey-level mechanic performing a full range of fleet repairs on heavy duty and/or commercial vehicles. Experience in a lead or supervisory position is desirable.

TITLE: Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education or designee FLSA: Non-exempt GRADE: W WORK CALENDAR: 195 FTE: 1.0 SUMMARY: To assist in the assessment of students' speech development level; implementing goals for remediation of speech and language deficits; and providing information and/or direction as may be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assists in the assessment of student's communication skills (e.g. articulation, language, fluency, voice, etc.) for the purpose of determining their speech and language deficits and developing recommendations.
* Attends meetings in the presence of supervising Speech Language Pathology (SLP) (e.g. departmental, multidisciplinary team, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or conveying information.
* Conducts speech and language screenings using district approved screening instruments for the purpose of determining student's speech and language deficits.
* Confers with classroom teacher for the purpose of providing requested information, implementing plans for services and/or making recommendations as directed by supervising SLP.
* Maintains various files and/or records for the purpose of providing written support and documentation required.
* Performs record keeping and basic clerical functions for the purpose of supporting supervising SLP.
* Prepares materials and follows speech language lessons appropriate for individuals or small group (e.g. speech therapy, teaching materials, etc.).
* Provides direct instructional services to students under the supervision of the SLP for the purpose of implementing goals for remediation of speech language deficits.
* Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
* Performs other responsibilities as may be assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department.
* Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
* Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Education/Certification:
* AA in a Speech Assistant Program OR BA in Speech and Language.
* License in Speech from the Arizona Department of Health Services.

* Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
* Possession of a valid Arizona driver's license at time of appointment, and throughout employment. Proof of curent auto liability insurance at the time of appointment and throughout employment. Personal transportaton for job-related travel.
Experience:
* Job related experience within specialized field
* Experience working with school aged children
Abilities:
* Ability to read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals
* Ability to write general correspondence and speak effectively with others
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
* Ability to interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms
* Ability to apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance
