The Programmer will be responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining programs and CAD files for CNC laser and fabrication equipment, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and manufacturability. The ideal candidate has strong CAD/CAM expertise, experience in nesting and toolpath optimization, and a collaborative mindset to support both Engineering and Production. Key Responsibilities Develop CNC and laser programs from engineering drawings, CAD files, and product specifications. Translate 2D/3D CAD drawings into optimized machine-readable formats (nesting, toolpath). Create and maintain program libraries, ensuring version control and accuracy. Optimize material utilization and reduce scrap through effective nesting strategies. Partner with Engineering to improve manufacturability and standardize programming practices. Collaborate with operators to troubleshoot issues, but remain engineering-focused (not machine operation). Support introduction of new products and processes, ensuring smooth transition from design to production. Maintain documentation of programming standards, CAD files, and procedures. Contribute to continuous improvement and process optimization within fabrication operations. Assist in equipment specification and evaluation during capital projects (when programming input is required). Qualifications 3+ years of CNC/laser programming experience in a fabrication or sheet metal environment. Proficiency with SigmaNest and AutoCAD required; familiarity with other CAM systems (e.g. CAMPlus, CAMProX, SheetCam) a plus. Strong understanding of fabrication processes (cutting, bending, assembly). Experience with nesting, toolpath optimization, and CAD file preparation. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and version control discipline. Strong communication and collaboration skills across Engineering, Production, and Quality. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and process improvement methods preferred. Exposure to PLC programming and robotics a plus but not required.

Report any concerns to management. + Delivered finished parts to designated areas. + Mo + Monitor tools for breakage and tool wear symptoms. + Perform basic tool maintenance (e.g. lube levels, coolant). + Perform tasks to company standards to efficiently and effectively meet department goals. + Take initiative to improve methodology and find solutions to boost productivity. + Communicate with management. + Manage priorities as they change throughout a shift. Complete allocated work in a timely manner. + Keep a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including tools and equipment. + Accurately capture all labor hours and material in Epicor. + Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. + Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required. + Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company. **Minimum Qualifications** + High school diploma, GED, or trade school graduate, or 0-3 years of practical machining experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Basic knowledge of G-code and M-code. + Mechanical aptitude. + Math proficiency. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams. + Strong attention to detail. + Knowledge and experience using precision measuring instruments, a plus. + Knowledge of computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software, a plus. + Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), a plus. + Knowledge of Epicor, Slack, and/or Box, a plus. + Flexibility with work schedule, including some holidays and alternate shifts as required; ability to work OT (more than 40 hours) in any given week as needed. **Working Conditions and Physical Effort** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to frequently walk, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, stoop, and kneel each day.
