Amtec company history timeline

1959

In 1959, Robert Underwood took over what was then a floundering, debt-ridden staffing company, with the mission of finding the right candidates for its customers.

1977

In 11 July 1977, the Agricultural Machinery Testing and Evaluation Center (AMTEC) was established by virtue of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB).

1978

Wanting more space, Amtec moved to Brea in 1978.

1988

Founded in 1988, Amtec has more than twenty five (25) years of corporate experience in delivering professional engineering and technical services to federal government agencies and commercial entities.

1995

AMTEC was founded in 1995 with the vision to provide state-of-the-art Printing, Marking, and Decorating equipment to the industry.

1999

A few years later, when Bob wanted to semi-retire, they bought him out, too, making Scott the CEO in 1999.

2000

The winds of change continued to blow as Jay Ramos, fresh out of college in 2000, began recruiting at Amtec.

2002

2002 On 1 January 2002 Amtec became independent.

2004

During a conference in Washington D.C. in 2004, community and technical college leaders from Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, and Kentucky were discussing their various automotive manufacturing training programs and services.

2005

In April of 2005, KCTCS hosted a meeting of community and technical colleges, and a wide spectrum of automotive manufacturing companies, both OEMs and suppliers.

The companies and colleges who participated in the April 2005 conference formed the initial founding partnership.

2009

In 2009 new purpose-built workshops and offices were built on land next to the original farm buildings and a 6-acre yard was laid out for machinery storage.

2012

In 2012, one of AMTEC college partners receives a TAACCCT grant to be used to implement curricula and purchase training equipment.

2018

As of December 2018, AMTEC has already assisted in the production of 12 volumes of PAES comprised of standards for general procedures, rules for structure and metrication, production machineries, postharvest machineries, engineering materials, agricultural structures, and slaughterhouse equipment.”
