EMD Millipore is seeking a Logistics & Shipping Coordinator to support domestic and international shipment processing at the Norwood Distribution Center. This role acts as a liaison between freight forwarders, brokers, internal distribution teams, and customers to ensure compliant, cost-effective, and timely transportation of goods. The position requires strong coordination skills, documentation accuracy, and working knowledge of hazardous materials shipping regulations (no direct handling).
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and expedite domestic and international shipments to meet customer service expectations
Act as liaison between freight forwarders, freight brokers, steamship lines, and customers
Prepare, obtain, and submit all required shipment documentation in compliance with DOT, IATA, IMDG, and CFR 49 regulations
Book shipments and arrange consolidations for efficient and cost-effective transportation
Support hazardous material shipping documentation (multi-hazard class chemicals; no physical handling)
Troubleshoot lost, delayed, or damaged shipments and address customer inquiries
Manage administrative and warehouse supply replenishment levels
Maintain accurate electronic and paper shipment records
Ensure adherence to Good Distribution Practices (GDP)
Perform additional duties as assigned while maintaining exemplary attendance
Required Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
Experience:
1-3 years in Logistics, Warehousing, or Supply Chain
Experience with shipping documentation and freight coordination
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to operate standard office equipment (PC, scanner, copier, etc.)
Soft Skills:
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Effective written and verbal communication
Ability to make independent decisions and escalate issues appropriately
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Distribution/Warehouse environment with occasional exposure to moving equipment
Use of PPE as required (safety shoes, gloves, goggles, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
0 - 1 year of experience in a warehouse environment.
Prior experience operating warehouse equipment is a plus.
Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
