What you will be responsible for: Ensuring that military packaging is developed and documented according to the processes outlined in Military Standards, e.g., MIL-STD-2073-1D, MIL-STD-2073-1E w/Change 4, MIL-STD-129, MIL-STD-3010, and Commercial Packaging Standards, ASTM-D3951 and ATA SPEC 300. Conducting packaging validation tests and inspections to ensure compliance with the standards. Utilizing appropriate instrumentation to measure the effectiveness of the packaging design. Coordinate with a wide range of subject matter experts including survey, roadway design, and environmental to successfully deliver client projects. Assist team and other engineers in developing technical approaches and review technical alternatives. Assist in the preparation of traffic engineering plans for signal designs, signing and marking designs, conceptual designs for intersections, and/or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs. Undertake training and guidance to increase knowledge in areas of technical proficiency. Key Skills: Understanding of the use of traffic analysis tools including VISSIM, Sidra, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS Understanding of the application of traffic operations principles including ITE, MUTCD, AASHTO, and state DOT requirements, policies, manuals and procedures Experience/familiarity with Microstation and/or Bentley OpenRoads Operational or maintenance practices within ITS, TSMO, or Traffic Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications: 4+ years of relevant work experience Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering. Ability to obtain Florida PE within two (2) months of hire. Must possess a U.S. Driver's License Experience in operational and/or safety analysis. Experience with Traffic Analysis and Engineering principles. Experience in one or more of the following areas: FDOT design standards, ITS design, traffic operations studies, intersection conceptual drafting, safety studies, ITS and/or TSMO program operations.
