Key Responsibilities:
Startup, operation and shut down of all required support utilities for boiler operations, including soft water systems, evaporator condensate recovery system, compressed air systems, related electrical systems, and natural gas supply.
Maintenance, start up, operation, monitoring and documentation of boiler systems, water chemistry, pressures, temperatures, output, gas flow, charts, records, and other critical points.
Operates & monitors boiler system.
Performs tasks that involve welding, torch cutting, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Ensures that preventative maintenance on equipment is executed in a timely manner and properly documented.
Requirements:

BUILDING ATTENDANT:
Keeps buildings and premises in a clean and neat condition. Including cleaning of bathrooms and trash removal.
May answer the telephone, provide information to the public, assist the public with concerns or refer them to appropriate individuals or take messages, monitor, greet, and direct the public.
May relocate groups in the building for meetings, classes, activities, etc.
Opens and secures buildings/grounds; notifies police when necessary.
Instructs users on the safe and proper utilization of the facility.
Moves furniture and other medium to heavy objects as necessary.
Removes snow, ice, and debris from outside steps and walkways, spreads salt as needed, and general lawn care and
landscaping, including weeding, raking, and trimming.
Depending on the facility one is assigned incumbent may be required to handle cash receipts, operate a computer,
and manage a concession stand.
Able to work alone or with minimal supervision.
Makes emergency calls related to the facility or calls 911, if necessary.
Communicates to the Recreation Specialist any safety concerns, vandalism, injuries, etc. that occur/are noticed during work hours.

PARK ATTENDANT:
Maintains a positive and inviting disposition to assure the most positive reflection of the Parks and Harford County Government.
Handles all inquiries; provides information to the public regarding pavilion rentals; assists the public with concerns, refers them to the appropriate individual or takes messages: monitors, greets, and directs the public.
Advises park users on safe use of the facility and enforces posted park/department rules.
Keeps buildings and park premises in a clean and neat condition, including cleaning of pavilions, restrooms, pa rk office and amenities, and trash removal.
General lawn care and landscaping including weeding, raking, and trimming.
Work independently, with minimal supervision.
May oversee volunteer groups.
Operation of a utility vehicle/pick-up truck, and small engine tools (string trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, etc.).
Secures the building and grounds; notifies the Sheriff's Department and Emergency Services when necessary.
Communicates to the Recreation Specialist any safety concerns, vandalism, injuries, etc. that occur.
This position requires heavy manual labor at times; and the ability to lift medium to heavy objects, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb.

Job Summary: The Shelter Specialist is responsible for providing supportive services and logistical support to the Emergency Shelter Program during designated shifts. Key duties include assisting with shelter setup, maintaining the cleanliness of the facility, and conducting neighborhood patrols. This role also requires crisis intervention and trauma-informed service delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Shelter Support
Goal: Ensure a safe and client-focused environment for guests to quickly end their homelessness
Assist in the implementation of shelter activities to ensure quality, guest-focused, and trauma-informed delivery of services
Encourage and discuss progress toward housing with shelter guests
Assist with shelter setup and maintenance
Assist with general cleanliness and safety of facility including emptying trash cans and cleaning up spills
Assist with receiving and verifying orders from vendors, completing tally sheets
Post and update signs and service calendars
Audio Equipment set up and monitoring
Assist in the organization of supplies and facilities needs
Conduct neighborhood patrols to minimize potential impact on the surrounding community
Administration
Goal: Oversee administrative duties that support program services
Assist with keeping detailed daily summary sheets
Assist with record keeping and reporting
Miscellaneous
Assist with guest services and program activities if necessary
Complete ad hoc projects as appointed by Supervisor
Qualifications
Requirements:
Experience
Possess a high level of tolerance and understanding for individuals who present for services with urgent multiple case management and health needs
Ensure a client-focused, trauma-informed, and housing-focused shelter approach
Ability to perform crisis intervention as needed
General
Ability to work effectively with a diverse population; plan, organize and prioritize duties; perform crisis intervention as needed; clearly communicate information and instructions verbally and in written form; maintain a positive, professional and safe environment while on duty; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Dependability, responsibility, and the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully
Fluency in Spanish is of significant value
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Prolonged periods of standing and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
