    Our Professional Liability underwriting department is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join our growing team. With this opportunity, you will underwrite and manage a portfolio of Professional Liability insurance in accordance with AmTrust E&S guidelines, strategy and profitability standards. The person in this position is responsible for new business development, risk analysis and assessment, coverage evaluation, pricing and contract negotiation in order to maintain and develop a profitable portfolio of non-admitted primary and excess Professional Liability risks. Responsibilities Build and maintain a solid flow of new business opportunities, identifying opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources. Position has direct responsibility for broker development and management within a book of business. Develop risk pricing by analyzing exposures, claims experience, utilizing pricing tools and worksheets, comparison to similar risks, as well as experience in underwriting exposures pertaining to individual risks, for new and renewal accounts within assigned portfolio and authority level. Consistently achieve budgeted financial results (premium, loss ratio, retention, commissions, pricing, new business, premium collection, and expense management) as established for individual portfolios. Identify and take corrective action and/or collaborate with the appropriate area within the organization based on individual risk characteristics identified through broker reviews, large loss analysis, risk control, etc. Insure compliance with underwriting strategies and regulatory requirements. Remain current on legal and regulatory changes and claim development in order to contribute to unit product development and portfolio decisions. Provide responsive service to brokers by delivering timely and accurate quotes and endorsements. Assist in the development and implementation of underwriting strategy for Professional Liability lines. Qualifications 5+ years of Professional Lines underwriting experience and pricing knowledge with focus in non-Medical Professional including Lawyers, Insurance & Real Estate Professionals or Miscellaneous E&O classes Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field & CPCU/ARM/RPLU preferred Strong knowledge of the E & S external market and demonstrated marketing and business development experience within the wholesale distribution channel. Able to understand and execute to strategic priorities including; pricing strategy, agent strategy, rate strategy, underwriting appetite, limit management and mix of business. Advanced analytical skills to interpret business information drawn from multiple sources to take critical account decisions regarding quality of risk. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in other functional areas and across the Group, share knowledge by participating in line of business monitoring and product development activities. Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills Ability to travel up to 25% of the time within the assigned territory Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Suite with specific emphasis on Excel The expected salary range for this role is $92K-$130K/year. Provide pertinent information and guidance to support staff required to process coverage requests in accordance with service guidelines. Assist in gathering and communicating competitive market information. Qualifications 3-5 years of commercial lines property and casualty experience Proven track record of building strong relationships with agency partners through exceptional performance and unmatched reliability Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent Insurance Industry experience. Technical command of underwriting liability, professional, property, automobile, and umbrella exposures.
