2001

In fact, there have since been attempts at branded sports teams, like when FedEx tried to rename the relocated Vancouver Grizzlies team the Memphis Express in 2001.

2002

In 2002–03 the team made a startling postseason run when the seventh-seeded (out of eight Western Conference clubs) Mighty Ducks were propelled into the Stanley Cup finals by the fantastic goaltending of Jean-Sébastien Giguère.

2004

During the summer of 2004, as the NHL and the NHL Players Association’s labor dispute was headed towards a long lockout, Disney tried to sell the team but received a low offer of $40-million US, less than the franchise’s original price.

2005

Disney had problems of its own, culminating in the ousting of Eisner in 2005; that this was the same year the company sold the Mighty Ducks likely wasn’t a coincidence.

2006

The Ducks then won their first division championship—in 2006–07, with a team led by Selanne and featuring budding stars Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf.

In 2006 the franchise, which had been sold by Disney the previous year, adopted as its name the Anaheim Ducks.

2015

In 2015–16 the team won a fourth consecutive division title but lost in the first round of the postseason, which featured Anaheim’s fourth straight play-off elimination in a game seven on home ice.

2016

After capturing another division title in 2016–17, the Ducks faced another home-ice game seven in the second round of the play-offs but managed to break their ignoble streak with a win over the Edmonton Oilers before ultimately being eliminated in the conference finals.

2017

The Ducks returned to the postseason in 2017–18 but were swept in the opening round.

2020

A score of 120 means that the team achieved 20% more victories per dollar of payroll compared with the league average during the 2020-21 season.8.

Revenues and operating income are for the 2020-21 season, including postseason and applicable non-NHL arena revenue (excluding the Seattle Kraken expansion fee) and are net of revenue sharing and arena debt service.
