Job Description Summary: Analog's Automotive Video and Data Solutions (AVDS) business unit is seeking a mid- to high-level Applications Engineer as a core contributor to our cutting-edge GMSL (Gigabit Multimedia Serial Links) product line's team. In this position you will work with global car manufacturers on their ADAS (camera) and In-Vehicle Infotainment (display) system designs and implementations. You will also design and develop hardware, firmware, and software to evaluate Analog's integrated circuits while using high-end lab equipment to characterize device operation for both new product development and customer support. The primary work location is on-site at an Analog facility where our ACE, Serial Links engineering teams are located, with some work-from-home flexibility available. This position is targeted at our Colorado Springs, CO office. Responsibilities Include: Being a product and technical expert in High-Speed Automotive Serial Links (GMSL) Providing quick-turn technical applications support to customers, global field teams, Product Definers, and Design Engineers which includes educating, answering questions, developing architectures, and solving problems with customers related to both new and existing Analog Devices' parts and boards Lab evaluation of new ICs to gain expert-level knowledge in device operation, including measurement collection and software authoring to automate bench tests Being a technical resource in display and camera systems, transmission line theory, industry standard control interfaces, automotive EMI/BCI standards, and automotive functional safety Designing, laying-out, building, and testing application boards to validate GMSL products, and developing demonstration systems to show-off industry-leading features to potential and existing customers Authoring technical documentation such as application notes, user guides, articles, new product proposals, and evaluation kit manuscripts for internal and/or external publication Working with Marketing and the global field team to secure new design wins by providing technical insight to engineers at key OEM and Tier-1 customers Provide trainings to FAEs and customer engineers globally Traveling (domestic and international) will be required for customer support and to meet with Analog's global design and field teams to provide training, lab work, demonstrations, and other remote operations Minimum Qualifications: BSEE required 0-1 year of automotive applications, electronics design, or product definition experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of high-speed serial links / SERDES and of serial communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, I2S, and RMII/RGMII/SGMII Working knowledge of PCB design and layout, system/hardware debug experience, and familiarity with FPGA, SOC, and microcontroller operation Self-motivated, multi-tasker with the ability to work independently as well as with cross-functional and interdepartmental teams Ability to travel globally 2-3 weeks per quarter Preferred Qualifications: Existing experience in an Applications Engineering role, in analog or digital design, or in a Systems Engineering role Experience in PCB design, layout, and signal integrity/power delivery simulations Working knowledge of video transmission standards such as DisplayPort, HDMI, oLDI, and others Working knowledge of automotive electronic systems, particularly ADAS and infotainment, automotive safety and quality standards and EMI/EMC standards For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Opportunity Overview The Teradyne Factory Applications group is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, and self-driven engineer to join our Digital and Software products team. You will work on projects collaboratively with cross-functional teams across the company, as well as develop imaginative, thorough, and practical application solutions. In this position, we are looking for someone who can leverage their experience into a multifaceted technical role - being an expert in our products for outbound activities, and representing the broad user base for inbound new product development. * Leading member of product development teams with engineering, representing the broad user base -defining use cases and requirements, and performing post-implementation validation. Responsibility is to ensure we are implementing the right things to meet market expectations with competitive solutions * Participate in key design-ins acting as a consultant, ensuring technical success * Provide guidance to our field applications and direct customers in development of successful test solutions * Develop and deliver technical marketing presentations with clear and effective messaging * Co-develop user documentation and training for new products and features * Continually develop deep expert knowledge of our products and use models * Continually develop knowledge of semiconductor test requirements and trends * Develop strong relationships with worldwide account teams and key customers. * Develop knowledge and expertise on semiconductor device testing. * Develop knowledge and expertise on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) - specifically the UltraFLEX family of Teradyne testers - with a focus on our Digital, Serial, DC, and Software product areas. * Support customers on tester operation and capability. Growth Areas: * Develop strong customer relationships at a technical level, to gain a deeper insight of the current usage and future direction of our products. * Evaluate problems and recommend solutions on Teradyne ATE platforms to optimize customer throughput and test quality. * Work directly with customer test engineers to understand and improve their test processes. * Work closely with the Teradyne engineering community on new product development - from requirements definition, to product release to market, and continued thru customer support. Ability to develop and deliver clear and effective presentations on complex topics. * Can work under high pressure with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. * Basic knowledge about semiconductor device design, manufacturing, and/or testing is a plus.
