Job Summary: The Production Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient planning and execution of production activities within the organization. This role involves coordinating production schedules, managing inventory levels, and optimizing resource utilization to meet customer demands while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Material Scheduling: Schedule and release material requirements according to an established schedule to ensure timely production. Order Fulfillment: Ensure customer orders are delivered within established timeframes, coordinating with relevant departments as needed. Engineering Change Management: Initiate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) when restructuring of the bill of materials is necessary to maintain product accuracy and efficiency. Documentation and Material Planning: Generate documents to support incoming products and develop, control, and maintain material plans for assigned products. Ensure regular material consumption. Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of selected products and options. Analyze current and forecasted inventory to determine appropriate levels for optima. inventory turnover. Recommend obsolescence or scrapping of materials based on usage. Issue Resolution: Resolve engineering and documentation issues by researching and coordinating with internal groups to ensure smooth operations. Education & Experience: Education: BS degree or equivalent required. Experience: Five years of experience in production planning, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment. Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced planning tools (e.g., SAP, MRP systems). Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and make data-driven decisions. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills to manage production schedules and inventory effectively. Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and ensure alignment on production goals. Working Conditions: Stationary Position: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Operate Office Equipment: Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery. They will work with Program Management to ensure project technical needs are staffed and work is executed against the program's required timeline. The EOIR PSE will guide and generate technical milestones, work structure, and work output to support overall project requirements. They will organize and conduct technical reviews, work closely with facility planners, and schedule technical resource usage with other engineering managers to achieve project goals. **Experiences/Education - Required** + BS in Engineering (systems, optics, electrical, physics) with 3+ years experience in electro optic system design. + Strong understanding of IR Materials, IR system's architecture, IR sensors, spectrometers, optics, mechanics and lab test/measure practices. + Capable of leading a diverse team of technical experts and clearly establishing goals in support of project deliverables. + Ability to understand and negotiate technical electro-optical specifications with customer + Work with technical team to develop project technical risk registers and plans to mitigate. + Ability to generate Development Engineering roadmaps for future EOIR products and materials. + Strong understanding of financial budgets and GAANT charts. + Ability to construct and maintain a financial budget for technical resources, both personnel and equipment. + Strong problem solving skills. + Willingness to interface with Customers and travel to their facilities. **Experiences/Education - Desired** + Competence with project management tools in engineering (MS/Project), Excel, PowerPoint. + Good communicator with experience briefing executive level business and engineering management. + Report writing with good organizational skills. + Ability to obtain a DOD clearance if required. **This position does not support immigration sponsorship.** The range for this position is $83,839.00 - $115,279.00 assuming full time status.
