This position bridges accounting accuracy with financial insight, partnering closely with Operations and Finance leadership. Over time, the role is expected to evolve toward a more analysis-driven function, contributing to strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Month-End Close Own month-end close activities related to manufacturing operations, inventory, and cost of goods sold (COGS). Prepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, and necessary adjustments. Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including inventory, work-in-process (WIP), reserves, and accruals. Support internal controls, audits, and compliance related to cost accounting and inventory processes. Manufacturing & Cost Analysis Analyze manufacturing COGS and key cost drivers, including materials, labor, and overhead. Conduct per-unit cost and margin analysis by product, SKU, or customer. Investigate, explain, and document cost, usage, and production variances. Partner with Operations to gain insight into production efficiency, yield, and process improvements. Planning & Financial Analysis Assist with the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts. Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods. Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses for management and leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 4-7 years of experience in manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, or operations finance. Strong understanding of inventory management, standard costing, and COGS. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP system experience required. CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required.
