Account Executive (Mid-Market)
Tabs 4.5
New York, NY job
Tabs is the leading AI-native revenue platform for modern finance and accounting teams. Tabs agents automates the entire contract-to-cash lifecycle, including billing, collections, revenue recognition, and reporting, to help teams eliminate manual work and accelerate cash flow.
High-growth companies like Cursor and Statsig rely on Tabs to generate invoices directly from contracts, reconcile payments in real time, and automate ASC 606 compliance.
Founded in 2023, Tabs has raised over $91 million from Lightspeed Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and Primary. The team is headquartered in New York and brings deep expertise in finance and AI.
About the Role
We're hiring a Mid-Market Account Executive based in New York to join our growing Go-to-Market team. This is a perfect role for someone who is looking to join an exceptional team at the earliest stages and have a massive hand in the early growth and success of the company. In this role, you will own the full sales cycle, from lead generation to close, working closely with prospects to understand their needs and position our product as the solution. As an early-stage team member, you'll also have the opportunity to shape sales strategies, learn quickly, and drive significant revenue growth.
What You'll Do
Customer Solutioning: Engage mid-market prospects in consultative selling, focusing on understanding their unique pain points and aligning our product to meet their business needs.
Full Sales Cycle Ownership: Manage all aspects of the sales process, including lead qualification, discovery, product demos, negotiation, and closing deals.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Solutions Consulting, Product, Engineering and Operations teams to share product feedback, develop creative approaches to tackling prospect challenges, and present compelling solutions.
Help drive our GTM strategy by understanding the needs of our customer persona and translating that into a scalable sales motion. Support continual evolution of our messaging and product marketing, and partner closely with the rest of the Mid-Market team to continually uplevel our sales process.
Who You Are
Customer-Centric: You are genuinely interested in understanding prospects, their businesses, and their challenges. You connect with users and buyers, taking a consultative approach to address their needs.
Curious & Intelligent: Your curiosity drives you to constantly learn and improve. You can synthesize diverse information and quickly master complex subjects or products.
Sales Expertise: You possess a deep knowledge of sales fundamentals and processes. You understand sales motions and methodologies and know how to adapt them to different situations for maximum impact.
Grit & Hustle: You display a “no task is too small” attitude and take ownership over hitting individual and team revenue goals. Thrive in a high-energy, high-growth environment with a hands-on approach to all tasks.
While we are open to candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds, we expect this role to be an especially good fit for candidates with 4-6 years of experience, and ideally having worked in early-stage startups. Bonus points if you have experience selling to Finance or Accounting leaders!
We are a NYC-based team spending 5-days a week in-person at our office in midtown Manhattan. There is remote flexibility when it's needed - e.g. occasionally appending a remote day when traveling, attending to a medical appointment, or some other material requirement to be at home. The expectation is we use remote days for need, not preference, so we can continue to build a high-energy, high-velocity in-person culture.

Product Delivery, Manager
Tabs is hiring a people manager based in New York to lead the broadly-visible and highly-successful Product Delivery team. This team builds custom features and workflows for high value customers. This role is ideal for someone looking to mentor early-career engineers and drive broad impact on the growth and success of Tabs.
As the head of the Product Delivery team, you will be a key player in the decision to sell to the highest value customers at Tabs. The Sales and Solutions teams will pitch to you what they think the customer needs and you will determine how we can accommodate them and if we should.
Throughout the quarter, tight headcount planning and assignment of the right people to projects aligned with their interests and skills as well as the client's needs and urgency will help you shape the progress of the team.
By conveying recent work to the marketing and product teams, you can help fuel our sales motion with customer success stories and our product development roadmap with specific feature requests.
About the team
The current team includes a handful of individual contributors and a tech lead in our New York office. It also includes a few outsourced contractors (Colombia, India, and Mexico) who execute on work delegated to them by the in-house teammates.
This team works directly with our implementation and customer success teams to build bespoke solutions to our customers' problems. Though most builds utilize our public APIs and a series of tools the team has created themselves, some new features will also require working with our product and engineering teams to add new API functionality. All of these teams sit near each other in our New York office so the Product Delivery team acts as an early-stage R&D pipeline into our product roadmap.
The team's work is highly cross-functional and customer-facing. Projects are ideated on during the sales cycle, refined during implementation, and completed before the customer goes live. Sample projects include supporting a third-party payments or tax vendor, an internal dashboard to track transactions across a bespoke workflow, and transformations between the customer's data set and Tabs data formats.
About you
Can drive extraordinary commercial results under pressure with a positive and supportive attitude
5-8 years of software development or technology consulting at high-growth software companies of varying stages including Series B and larger
Have led in-person and remote teams of varying sizes including software engineers, solutions and implementations, customer success, and executive stakeholders. Fluency in Spanish is a plus!
Excellence in project management and systems engineering, especially in enterprise settings where customers will expect clear Gantt charts and detailed project plans

Software Engineer, Revenue
Why this role exists
Revenue recognition is perhaps one of the hardest domains in software. It's full of gnarly edge cases, temporal complexity and legacy decisions that can't be undone.
The Tabs Revenue team builds the systems that turn contracts and usage into revenue reporting that users can trust- ARR, GAAP-compliant rev rec, deferred and unbilled balances, journal entries- all enforced by mathematical invariants. Down to the penny, across time, under audit.
Nailing rev rec is existential to the success of Tabs. We're hiring an engineer who wants to own real systems, not just shuffle tickets across the finish line. Someone who enjoys untangling ambiguity, respects the domain of accounting and is energized by complexity.
What you'll actually work on
Here are examples of real projects engineers on the Revenue team have owned recently:
Revenue recognition architecture: Built a system where invoice amounts, recognized revenue and accounting entries stay in sync through service-level constraints
Historical revenue import: Built CSV upload pipeline that validates, transforms and inserts pre-platform data, then combines it with current data in reports
Month-end close workflow: Built a new experience that validates invoices, reconciles payments, calculates revenue movement and generates journal entries ready for ERP sync
Optimized revenue reporting: Built queries that combine historical imports with current data, support multi-currency, and render annual reports in record time for our most data-heavy customers
Credit memos: Built a credit memo system that works across multiple ERPs, including robust rollback logic and error surfacing
You'll work across backend services, data models, APIs and frontend services. You'll partner closely with Product and Design- quick deskside sessions abound at Tabs! You're expected to bring opinions to the meetings you join, not just take notes.
What we care about
You'll thrive at Tabs if you:
Enjoy owning systems end-to-end, from first design doc to fixing production edge cases weeks later
Care deeply about correctness and long-term maintainability
Are curious about domains you don't already understand, and are willing to sit with discomfort while you learn
Can disagree respectfully, explain your reasoning and change your mind when the data says you should
We're optimizing for excellent engineers who are good teammates.
What we
don't
care about as much
Exact years of experience
Whether you're “frontend” or “backend” by title
Whether you've worked in fintech before
Whether you know what Deferred Revenue is
If you've built scalable systems, shipped real software and learned from breaking prod a time or two, we want to talk.
Tabs engineering culture
Our core values show up in how we work:
Respect the Domain
We don't shy away from accounting complexity. We dig into the details to build features the right way - even if that means combing through PWC's revenue recognition guidance on a weekend.
Stay Customer-Centric
If accounting teams can't trust the numbers we produce, nothing else matters. Engineers join customer calls when it's useful and stay in close touch with Support and Success to understand what customers actually need. We put wireframes in front of real users, get feedback directly from accountants and cut processes that slow us down. You won't hear “that's not my job” here; we step in and help where it's needed.
Innovate In-Person
This is an in-office role. We believe hard problems are solved faster together. This comes with perks like weekly happy hours, chess tournaments, soccer leagues, quarterly hackathons and more whiteboards than employees 😉
Build the Best Vision
We're not copying incumbents; we're rethinking how accounting systems should work from first principles. We get bright people into a room, debate intensely, disagree, commit and execute with urgency. If we make the “wrong” decision, we pivot quickly and ego-less-ly, document our learnings and move on. We operate in one-week sprints so we can adapt when new information surfaces.
Do What You Say
We value clear ownership and follow-through. Engineers who consistently deliver earn trust quickly and see their scope expand fast- not through politics, but by doing what they said they would do. In other words, we're looking for drivers, not passengers.
Grow from Discomfort
This work is hard because we challenge ourselves to ship killer products on tight deadlines. Maybe you will be asked to deliver a feature in half the time you budgeted. Maybe you will need to build a novel frontend experience, even though you've been a backend engineer for years. Maybe you will write a technical doc on how to re-architect our reporting backend, 3 years out of school. (All real examples, btw). We've learned there are two reactions to this kind of work: “oh s***” and “looks fun, when can I start?” We're building a team of the second kind. That's where the growth is.
Want a better sense of how the Revenue team thinks?
We share our wins and our mistakes. A few recent blog posts from the team:

Final note
If you're excited by hard problems, care about correctness and want to work with people who are sharp
and
kind, we'd love to hear from you. If you're looking for a chill role where you can push some Linear tickets across the board and clock out… this probably isn't it 🙂
The stack

Your initial mandate is to design and implement the foundational data platform around our core metrics, and set us up for long-term analytical scalability.
This role is ideal for an engineer who has built a data platform end to end and wants ownership of the full data stack. You're comfortable operating in ambiguity and focused on driving real business impact.
What you'll do
Design and implement our first scalable data warehouse/lakehouse to support KPIs.
Build and maintain reliable data pipelines (batch and/or streaming) from application databases and third-party tools.
Work with leadership to translate business metrics into concrete data models and schemas.
Define and own data modeling standards and best practices.
Implement monitoring, data quality checks, and observability around pipelines and core tables.
Enable BI and data analysts through well structured models and self-serve friendly datasets.
Document the data platform (lineage, definitions, contracts) and help establish a shared source of truth for metrics.
Experience
3-5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, ideally in a mid-stage startup.
Solid programming skills in Python.
Strong SQL skills and experience designing/data modeling for analytics
Hands-on experience with a modern cloud data stack, such as:
Warehouses: Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, etc.
Orchestration/transformation: dbt, Airflow, Dagster, or similar.
Ingestion: Fivetran, Stitch, custom ingestion pipelines, etc.
Experience building and operating production-grade data pipelines (performance, reliability, cost-awareness).
Strong understanding of data quality, testing, and monitoring practices.
Comfort starting from a relatively greenfield environment and making pragmatic build vs. buy decisions.
Nice to have
Experience supporting BI tools (Looker, Mode, Tableau, Metabase, etc) and designing semantic layers.
Experience in B2B SaaS, especially around revenue, usage, and customer health metrics.
Prior experience as an early data hire or working in a small or medium, fast-growing startup.

Experience

Strong technical aptitude: able to assess customer systems and design solutions leveraging Tabs.
Proven ability to drive execution in environments where solutions may be imperfect and require creativity.
Deep experience serving as a customer facing project lead with highly complex implementations.
Nice to Have
