Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: General aviation knowledge, including familiarization with applicable Federal Aviation Administration rules, regulations, and policies. Aircraft and airport operational procedures as outlined in the Aeronautical Information Manual, as well as an understanding of incident/accident management protocols and reporting requirements as defined by the National Transportation Safety Board. Fueling procedures, specific to various aircraft types (airplanes/helicopters) and classifications, which include turbo jet, turbo propeller, and reciprocating piston. Fuel quality control and testing utilizing strict procedures mandated by fuel suppliers and the International Air Transport Association. A full understanding of the classification and identification of applicable hazardous aviation materials, substances, compounds, and fluids to include their management, storage, containment, and disposal. Also, knowledge of industrial safety protocols to include the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Ability to operate complex aviation fuel storage facilities and associated mobile refueling equipment. General mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills required for the maintenance of facilities, equipment, and lighting. General office skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), phone etiquette, credit card processing, inventory management. The ability to work in a professional capacity with flight crews, passengers, the public, and co-workers in a fast-paced environment. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma, GED, or specialized vocational training. Experience working in airport operations or related setting; or equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS: Required: Valid driver's license. Preferred: Experience in airport/aircraft operations and/or pilot certifications. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is medium work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This position has the following special vision requirements: close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up or down and to the left and right when vision is fixed on a given point); adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
