POSITION SUMMARY
An Andretti EventAssociate is a part-time role with the potential for earning tips. EventAssociates are responsible for anticipating guest needs, and exceeding guest service expectations all while providing a fun and exciting atmosphere. All positions are responsible for assisting guests in various areas, in many capacities, and following Andretti Indoor Karting and Games high standards of quality Guest satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Welcome visitors by greeting them in a friendly and positive manner.
* Set up and break down event spaces per event contract, management and floor diagram.
* Host entire event, supervise all activities and ensure guests are pleased with their visit.
* Maintain proper food and beverage temperature, and correct utensils are used.
* Pay attention to details, focus on Guests, and understand event contracts.
* Deliver energetic guest service with a sense of urgency.
* Observe, instruct and monitor Guests for safety and guideline adherence.
* Assist with any Guest recovery and ensure positive Guest experiences.
* Maintain constant working knowledge of Andretti brand, product and policies & procedures.
* Communicate clearly and professionally while interacting enthusiastically with Guests and fellow co-workers.
* Be aware and knowledgeable of facility emergency procedures.
* Perform Opening, Running and Closing department duties as assigned.
* Prior guest service or hospitality experience is preferred.

About the Venue
The Donald L. Responsibilities
* Coordinate all aspects of events that are assigned by Director of Events
* Thoroughly describe the venue's services and outline how the services are coordinated to clients
* Assist clients with event logistics and suggest the most effective ways to use the facility for specific types of event functions
* Design set up diagrams in AutoCAD program based off event needs for approval by the client
* Work with the Operations Department to ensure all events are set up to the client's specifications and that all fire codes and safety regulations are being followed.
* Communicate with Director of Food and Beverage, Chefs and Catering Manager on needs of each event
* Create and distribute detailed Event Data Sheets prior to every event
* Coordinate and provide clear, concise, and timely communication with building staff of all requirements necessary for events by preparing and distributing detailed Event Data Sheets, diagrams, and event staffing requirements for each assigned event
* Update event estimates, as needed, to send to the client and complete a final settlement upon completion of each event
* Have the ability to problem solve, make quick decisions and delegate responsibility while remaining professional and pleasant in the midst of stressful
* Assist the event director with processing of biweekly Events Department payroll to HR
* Complete all duties with a customer service focus through teamwork & dedication to Oak View Group's mission and principles

Qualifications
* Experience coordinating banquets, tradeshows, conferences, meetings and/or weddings preferred
* Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a public assembly facility including supervisory responsibility
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in facility management, hospitality management, business management, or another related field preferred
* Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing is required
* Work a flexible schedule including long days, late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays

Overview
This is an event-based position with no minimum number of hours guaranteed. Work schedules are determined by event activity and availability sheet
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays
Principles and methods of setting up and tearing down events and of the housekeeping/cleaning techniques of a large public facility, exhibiting, and show utilities (i.e., special lighting, booth wiring, compressed air, etc.)
Able to manage time wisely.
Ability to work effectively in a service-oriented environment.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with tenants, other employees, and members of the public.
Perform other duties as required
This role will pay an hourly rate of $10.00 to $11.00

Responsibilities
Ticket Taker:
Collect tickets, passes, etc. for admission into events; check for authenticity
Prohibit access to guests without proper tickets, passes or other entry credentials
Provide an accounting of tickets, passes, etc. collected
Provide general event and facility information to guests
Usher / Door Monitor / Badge Checker / Bag Checker / Wanding:
Direct guests to their seats and provide general information regarding the event and the facility
Monitor entry and exit into facility events; prohibit access to guests without proper entry credentials
Assist in maintaining order during events
Provide general event and facility information to guests
Check all guest bags for certain events
Monitor the crowd during all events
Wand guests for sanctioned sporting events, school functions, or any other event where weapons are not allowed inside the venue(s)
Parking Attendant:
Assist the parking operation by directing vehicles in and out of the parking lot
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma, or equivalent GED
Two years experience in a related field highly desirable
Possession of, or ability to obtain a Texas driver's license

About the Venue
Our venue is a spacious 45-acre complex that includes various facilities to accommodate a consumer's needs with a variety of venue spaces available. These includes the Marvin and Laura Berry Pavilion, two Exhibit Halls, the Conference Center, the Equestrian Center, and Middletown Meadows. With our multi-purpose venue, we offer the capability to utilize our facility for events such as rodeos, livestock showing/selling, boxing, wrestling, concerts, trade/consumer shows, corporate meetings, banquets, weddings, quinceañeras, parties, horse events, sporting events, and so much more! The Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds provides varied opportunities for Nueces County residents and serves as a place for the community to gather and share experiences. Nueces County owns the facility, which is managed by Oak View Group.
