Performs diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification, law and Akron Children's Hospital privileges. May prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by prescriptive authority through Ohio Board of Medicine and hospital policy. Develops patient education plan. Collaborates with nursing, medical and other healthcare team members regularly to ensure quality patient care. May serve as clinical preceptor for PA students. Other duties as assigned. Other information: Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies Preferred. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program. Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Ohio, Current NCCPA (National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistant) certification. Must have Supervision Agreement filed, current certificate to practice and certificate to prescribe (or eligible) by Ohio Board of Medicine. Must obtain credentialing as an active member of medical staff and appropriate medical staff privileges. Current Health Care Provider BLS training is required. Punctual in-person attendance (typically between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. is required (for rounders). Continuous operation of app-based EMR/notes system either through a computer or on a mobile device (iPad, Phone etc.). Ability to ascend and descend stairs in a facility. Some ability to position oneself to obtain records, tools, medical equipment and other items that may be in locations that are below the knee or above the shoulder. Effectively communicate with patients, managers, and Facility staff.
