Michael is a Managing Partner and Co-CEO of Angel Oak Companies that commenced operations in 2008 and currently employs over 650+ professionals. Michael is responsible for providing senior leadership and strategic direction to Angel Oak’s mortgage lending and asset management businesses.

Angel Oak is a vertically integrated business with expertise in asset management, lending and capital markets. Angel Oak’s fixed income asset management platform currently manages approximately $10B in its public and institutional fund offerings. Angel Oak’s origination businesses are recognized industry leaders in residential and commercial mortgage credit with over $7B in origination. Angel Oak is best known for its specialization in non-QM [agency] mortgages. Angel Oak is also a pioneer in the redevelopment of the non-agency securitization market. Prior to Angel Oak, Michael was a Co-Founder at SouthStar Funding, a national wholesale mortgage lender specializing in non-agency mortgage products which funded as much as $6.5 billion annually in non-agency mortgages. Michael’s direct responsibilities included oversight of the sales, operations and credit risk departments.

Ravi Correa is a Managing Director at 9175504 CANADA CORPORATION and CFO - Angel Oak Lending at Angel Oak Companies and is based in Alpharetta, Georgia. He has worked as Audit Analyst at ROTHMANS BENSON & HEDGES INC.; SVP, Finance - Treasurer at Roundpoint Financial Group Inc; and Sr. Financial Analyst at NORTEL NETWORKS LTD. Ravi studied at AICPA and Ottawa between 1992 and 1996.

Sreeni is a co-founder, Managing Partner and Group Chief Investment Officer at Angel Oak Capital and is responsible for the overall investment strategy of the firm.

Prior to Angel Oak, Sreeni was the Chief Investment Officer of the investment portfolio at Washington Mutual Bank in Seattle where he managed a $25 billion portfolio. He was also part of the macro asset strategy team at the bank. Sreeni previously worked for six years at SunTrust Bank in Atlanta, where he was responsible for investment strategies and served as Head Portfolio Manager for the $3 billion commercial mortgage-backed securities portfolio. He began his career at SunTrust in 1998 as a Bank Analyst focused on asset/liability management and liquidity strategies.

Sreeni holds a B.B.A. degree in Economics from Georgia College and State University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Georgia State University.

Steven is the Chief Marketing Officer for Angel Oak Companies and oversees all marketing and branding initiatives for the firm and its affiliated companies.

Steven has over 24 years of experience in marketing and branding in both corporate and agency environments. Prior to Angel Oak, Steven was Vice President of Marketing for Buyers Protection Group, a national home warranty/home inspection firm. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Brand Equity for United Guaranty. For over 10 years prior to that, Steven was a partner in two different brand and marketing communications agencies.

Steven holds an MBA from Emory University and a B.S. degree from the University of Miami.

Adam is the Chief Compliance Officer at Angel Oak Capital and is responsible for overseeing the firm’s compliance program and regulatory matters.

Adam has over 10 years of experience in regulatory compliance of registered investment advisors, broker/dealers, mutual funds, money market funds, private placements, hedge funds and commodity pools. Most recently, Adam was with Invesco where he supervised a team of compliance officers responsible for trade monitoring and forensic testing of the firm’s mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and separately managed accounts. He began his career with Aspen Partners, Ltd. where he was responsible for all regulatory and compliance matters and led the formation of the firm’s broker/dealer and the launch of several fund offerings, including a registered mutual fund.

Adam holds a B.B.A. degree in Management from the University of West Georgia and holds the Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional (CRCP) designation granted by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

David is Chief Operating Officer, Head of Corporate Development at Angel Oak Capital and his primary responsibilities include helping develop and implement the firm’s strategic growth plan. He also serves on Angel Oak’s Advisory Committee.

David joined Angel Oak in 2014, bringing many years of experience as a principal and advisor to growing asset management firms. In 2000, he co-founded Rosemont Investment Partners, a leading private equity firm focused on providing capital and strategic value to asset management businesses. He developed innovative investment structures designed to align the interests of all parties. David has served as an active partner and board member to dozens of asset managers, providing guidance to promote business growth, corporate best practices and strategic direction.

He has led more than 40 transactions in the asset management industry and has a long history of creating successful, collaborative relationships among affiliates. Prior to the formation of Rosemont, David worked as an investment banker at Smith Barney and Legg Mason.

David holds an A.B. degree in English from Columbia University and an M.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on a variety of corporate and non-profit boards.

John is the Chief Risk Officer at Angel Oak Capital and oversees all risk management functions for the firm. He chairs Angel Oak’s Risk Management and Valuation Committee. John also runs Treasury Strategies at Angel Oak Capital and is responsible for originating and managing all financing arrangements for new products, as well as for the firm’s investment advisory accounts.

John has 30 years of experience in financial services spanning operations, commercial banking, structured credit investment banking and asset management. Eleven of John’s 30 years have been at Angel Oak. Most recently John was Head of Capital Markets where he led Angel Oak’s entry into the Non-QM asset class by laying the structural foundation for Angel Oak’s private credit strategies and founded the Angel Oak Mortgage Trust securitization shelf. Prior to that, John ran operations, compliance and risk as COO. In that role John created the legal, operational, and compliance aspects of the Angel Oak Multi-Strategy Income Fund.

Before joining Angel Oak, John was a Senior Vice President in Ocwen Financial Corporation’s Alternative Investment Group, where he developed partnerships that invested in NPLs and created investments in MSRs and Servicer Advances. He was also at SunTrust, MBIA and J.P. Morgan, where he focused on the creation and marketing of structured credit products, mainly focusing on Collateral Loan Obligations.

John holds B.S. and B.A. degrees in Industrial Engineering and Economics from Rutgers University and an M.B.A. from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.

Matt is responsible for leading the Human Resources Department for all divisions of Angel Oak Companies. He has direct oversight of the strategic processes and day-to-day operations of the human resources department, including both corporate functions and deployed support.

Matt has over 20 years of progressive expertise in human resources strategy and related disciplines. Prior to Angel Oak, Matt served 11 years at SunTrust Bank, Inc. in numerous roles of increasing responsibility within the Human Resources Department.

Matt holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Tennessee Technological University.

Michael is the Chief Credit Risk Officer of Angel Oak Home Loans (AOHL). He has more than 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry with over 19 years in management. His current responsibilities at AOHL include underwriting management, guideline approval, credit risk assessment, and product development.

Along with his career in management, Michael is also a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association liaison committee which communicates with all lending agencies. This committee meets regularly with top officials at Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA to discuss the current state of the industry. Michael has underwriting designations/certifications with conventional, jumbo, FHA, VA, and USDA and has played a large part in the product development of AOHL’s portfolio products.
