Pay Range: $42,000 - $86,000 Job Description: A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will assist a Physical Therapist in implementing a treatment plan to assist pediatric patients with physical, neurological, cognitive, and social/emotional disabilities or delays by planning and administering physical therapy services in the home and community. Responsibilities: Provides quality care and meets the needs of the patient and family by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results; developing goals appropriate to child; creating and implementing physical therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician. Assists pediatric patients develop or regain physical, neurological, cognitive and/or social/emotional functioning and improve their level of independence by implementing skilled interventions to maximize the potential of each individual child. Reviews information on all pending patient admissions, all new admissions (assessments and history) and “alive” discharges to assure that eligibility and appropriateness criteria are met. Collaborates with both the team physician and the attending physician regarding palliative care measures for pain and symptom management. Reviews all imminent “alive” discharges to assure effective discharge planning. Monitors the type and level of team services provided (staffing, medications, HME, supplies, level of care changes to inpatient and continuous care, etc.) to assure that they are appropriate and responsive to patient/family needs and expectations.
