As a member of the Resource Team the Nursing Assistant will float to various units including Inpatient units, Emergency room and Behavioral health. Assignments will be made to meet organizational needs. Provides quality patient care under the supervision and direction of licensed nursing personnel. Provides direct or indirect nursing care to patients from pediatrics to geriatric populations in the hospital setting. The Painter also practices preventive maintenance of painting tools and equipment, and complies with federal regulations governing environmental protection, hazardous waste disposal and the use of chemical substances and materials common to the painting trade. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Meets regularly with supervisor to provide updated information on jobs in progress, scheduled work, & backlog. Ensure that all necessary forms, permits, precautions, etc. are fulfilled prior to the start of projects. Communicates to staff the work to be done, suggest means or methods for timely completion of work. Receive and enter work orders. 2. Completes assigned painting projects with quality workmanship by preparing surfaces for painting using sandpaper, power sanders, steel wool, wire brushes, scrapers, paint removers and chemicals, filling nail holes, cracks, or joints with putty, plaster or other fillers, applying paints, stains, varnishes, enamel, or lacquer using paint brushes, rollers, and/or sprayers, and recommending the use of additional departmental personnel or contract personnel (as appropriate) to meet assigned completion targets. 3. Protects Hospital property and equipment from damage during painting work by removing furniture, wall fixtures, and equipment from work sites if possible or covering immoveable items with protective cloths, covering floors with cloths or tarpaulins, taping woodwork, facings, and decorative trims, and erecting safe scaffolding in a manner that prevents damage. 4. Restores painting work sites to their original condition at the completion of work by removing scaffolding, painting cloths, tarpaulins, and masking tape used during the project, returning furniture and equipment to their proper location, setting up equipment that had been dismantled, and cleaning any paint splatters from surfaces, furniture or equipment. 5. Practices preventive maintenance of painting tools and equipment by performing spot checks of equipment to determine their working condition, oiling moving parts, cleaning and servicing tools and equipment as directed or specified in the operator's manual, and returning damaged tools and equipment for repair or replacement. 6. Reduces the likelihood for liability regarding the Hospitals compliance with federal regulations by complying with policies, laws, and regulations governing environmental protection, safety, hazardous waste disposal, and the use of chemical substances and materials common to painting. 7. Contributes to an accident-free work environment by complying with operator's instructions for the use of power sprayers and tools, wearing protective equipment such as filter respirators, goggles, hearing protectors, back support, and work gloves, reporting incidents of unsafe work activity to supervisors, and following standard safety precautions during work. 8. Contributes to the overall success of Facilities Maintenance by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Inventory Management & PAR Maintenance * Maintain assigned PAR supply rooms 50+ rooms totaling more than 9000 individual items inventoried daily, ensuring stock rotation (FIFO), accurate inventory counts, ordering supplies and timely replenishment. * Unload and put away deliveries from all incoming trucks and transfer shipments. * Verify products against pick lists and resolve discrepancies promptly. * Monitor expiration dates on all products. * Maintain crash carts according to established protocols. * Order Fulfillment & Picking * Accurately pick, stage, and label orders for delivery with 100% accuracy. * Support teammates with deliveries and assist in resolving urgent supply needs. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of storerooms and staging areas. * Receiving & Delivery * Receive all incoming shipments at designated docks, palletized, and organize products for distribution. * Document deliveries and maintain 100% accuracy in records. * Address and resolve issues such as missing POs, incorrect deliveries, or unidentified packages by contacting the correct manufacturer. * Ensure all products are processed and staged by end of day. * Deliver all product that has been received daily 300+ packages to the correct departments located at but not limited to the main hospital, north campus, and offsite locations. * Specialized Support * OR Liaison: Manage OR supply needs, including ordering, unloading, delivering, and maintaining par levels. Job Requirements The Student Nurse Intern (SNI) program is a paid internship giving nursing students the opportunity to work under the direction of the RN in providing care to patients.
