The E-Commerce Specialist, Customer Service reports directly to the Associate Manager, E-Commerce and will support relationships among Customer Service, Marketing, IT, and Logistics. GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Analytical Chemist or Specialist will be a part of the Healthcare Global Business Unit (HGBU) of Ansell, supporting the Scientific Affairs (SA)/Quality Assurance Department in Reno, NV. The Analytical Chemist or Specialist will be responsible for projects that generate a distinct competitive advantage by adding value and driving commercial impact. This role requires translating business partner needs into actionable insights through various quality and commercial activities, research, technical writing, and educational development of sales and marketing team webinars. This position will also be responsible for testing and analyzing product performance through standardized and non-standardized test methods including both physical and chemical testing and conducting statistical analysis of product performance data. The position also requires strong analytical and communication skills to consistent share insights from the day to day management of SA projects with a diverse group of stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

List in order of importance and percentage of time spent. (Note: Percentages should equal 100%.)

* Provide technical support and strategic advice to both internal and external customers on a range of topics related to personal protective equipment. (30%)
* Manage and prioritize projects based on strategic objectives and our department goals including conducting competitive testing and analysis of product performance via standardized methods with limited supervision. (20%)
* Compile and share trends and insights, collaborative research with our partner networks, market or industry information with stakeholders during monthly or quarterly meetings or in targeted customer training. (15%)
* Strengthen lab network by fostering collaborative research, input and feedback from our internal HGBU networks including R&D and MFG QA and manage external partner labs for the internal network. (10%)
* Technical report writing for both internal and external customers. (10%)
* Translate research, industry standards, glove science and other complex technical topics into easy to understand business or customer needs. (5%)
* Conduct maintenance and calibration on a variety of laboratory equipment. (5%)
* Maintain chemical inventories and oversee chemical waste disposal. (<5%)
* Understand and follow Quality System documents relevant to responsibilities such as Quality Manual, SOPs, Methods, and Local Policies.
* Work in a global team setting with other Associate Scientists and/or Laboratory Technicians.
* Maintain a safe, clean laboratory and clean work area.
* Support related administrative activities.

KEY POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education

* Bachelor of Science in analytical chemistry, polymer chemistry, biology, or similar physical science required. Master's degree desirable.

Job Experience

* Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a corporate environment.
* 3-5 years of work experience in a laboratory environment.
* Experience in a wet chemistry lab is required.
* Experience with presenting technical information to business partners is required.
* Experience with UV-VIS spectrophotometry, gas chromatography with flame ionization (GC-FID), and liquid chromatography (HPLC) is strongly preferred.
* Glove or polymer laboratory experience preferred.
* Experience with hazardous chemical handling is preferred.
* Experience with record keeping in an office setting preferred. Administrative paperwork and other documentation are needed for project validation and quality record keeping.
* Experience with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) a plus.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION

This role is responsible for emerging smart technologies and their supportive systems with experience working with complex hardware design, firmware programming and IoT connectivity. He/She will contribute to new technologies research, concept development and rapid prototyping activities, and will support development of new products and processes as guided to support Ansell industrial business unit.

He/she will work with team to design, test and validate product during all stages of development. This would include developing new test protocols and identifying/building lab testing equipment to ensure product performance. He/she will collaborate with development partners, IT, product managers and other key functions to ensure clear communication and consistent Best Practice implementation of hardware and electronic textiles-related product development initiatives. He/She will study Ansell's current systems and procedures and recommend solutions to help new product or new service development operate more efficiently and effectively.

In addition, this position will manage assigned development and improvement projects to drive value for Ansell internal stakeholders and for our customers. This position will lead or support new product commercialization and launch efforts including evaluation, development, procurement and start-up of new products and processes.

Hardware/electronics/IOT Research and Design

* Working with the team to design, test and validate hardware firmware and e-textile products before interaction with customer and to facilitate the set-up of wearable electronics systems.
* Create communication collateral such as case studies
* Research emerging smart technologies to determine if pursuing them for product development will be beneficial to Ansell's current or adjacent product and service offerings to our customers.
* Devise methods to add IOT functionality to existing Ansell product and services to drive value for our customers.
* Prototype building related to the research conducted and methods devised, including physical prototyping and/or programming/app/software writing.
* Design lab experiments to test hardware, sensors and other electronics for design downselection and performance verification and validation.
