This question is about what a pharmacist does.

Can pharmacists work from home?

By Kate Swindlehurst - Jun. 12, 2023

Yes, pharmacists can work from home. When working from home, pharmacists are able to complete more administrative tasks, but cannot complete every task that is assigned to a pharmacist. Additionally, work-from-home pharmacists must work under a licensed pharmacist in a clinic.

Pharmacists working remotely are able to discuss prescriptions with patients and can also verify prescriptions and complete administrative tasks to support pharmacists who are working in-person. The biggest thing pharmacists cannot do from home is fill prescriptions, as they do not have the medication in their homes.

This is a huge disadvantage, and makes it impossible to create a system where every pharmacist is able to work from home at the same time. Any pharmacist working from home is limited, as they cannot perform what some consider to be the most important part of their job.
