This question is about Aflac.
Yes, Aflac drug tests. However, they do not drug test consistently across positions. When required, Aflac uses a pre-employment drug test, and although they have the right to test any employee as they deem necessary - they typically never do.
Individuals applying for agent positions are not drug tested. As an agent working for Aflac, you are considered an independent worker and not subject to drug testing. In the case of a work-related accident, that is the only time that an agent may be asked to submit to a drug screening.
Conversely, those applying for jobs in claims or processing are much more likely to be asked to take a drug test as part of the hiring process.
When required, Aflac's five-panel urine screening is done at a third-party lab and looks for the following:
Amphetamines
THC
Cocaine
Opiates
Phencyclidine
Aflac does not allow cannabis regardless of if you live in a state where it is legalized or if you have a cannabis medical card. They also have the right to test any employee who is suspected of being under the influence or if involved in a workplace accident.
Aflac is a smoke-free workplace and, as such, does not allow the use of tobacco or vaping products inside any company building or vehicle.
