Yes, Boeing drug tests current employees, as well as those applying for employment with the company. These tests are designed to meet government requirements in terms of both frequency and type of testing.
Those applying to Boeing for employment will be required to take a drug test. Current employees of the company seeking transfers to safety-sensitive positions will also be tested. Boeing also randomly conducts both drug and alcohol tests, consistent with government regulations pertaining to transportation companies.
A urine test, reviewed by a government-regulated lab, is used, and the results are examined by medical review officers. If an employee tests positive, they may request a split sample test, meaning the original sample will be divided and retested. Employees have 72 hours to request this procedure after being informed of a positive result.
