Does Brookshires drug test?
Yes, Brookshires drug tests; however, this is not the case for potential employees, and is only used for current employees who are suspected of drug use or employees that have been promoted into a management position.
When Brookshires does drug test current employees, it does through a third-party medical facility. The drug test used by the third-party medical facility is a standardized five-panel urine test. This can detect the five most commonly abused drugs and substances:
- Cannabis
- Cocaine
- Opiates
- Amphetamine
- PCP
However, the company does reserve the right to request a drug screen of current employees in any of the following scenarios:
When they are suspected of being intoxicated at workWhen they are involved in a workplace accidentWhen they experience a work-related injury
In any of these instances, a failed drug test can result in disciplinary action, including termination, and possible criminal prosecution, if the employee has endangered the lives of their co-workers. It is unclear what type of drug test the company uses in these situations as it is a process that is completed by a third-party drug testing lab.
