Does Entergy drug test?

Yes, Entergy drug tests prior to an offer of employment. All employees are required to abide by the Code of "Entegrity". This means that the use, possession, or sale of illegal drugs or alcohol is prohibited in the following situations:

• On Entergy property (this includes in a personal vehicle that is parked on Entergy property)

• While operating a vehicle or other equipment owned or leased by an Entergy system company

• While operating a personal vehicle on Entergy system company business

• While using property owned or leased by an Entergy system company

• While working (including remotely)

• While otherwise conducting company business

In addition to a pre-employment screening, Entergy reserves the right to drug test an employee at any time if substance use is suspected or if a workplace accident occurs. A positive drug test result can void any worker's compensation claims and result in disciplinary action, including termination.

There have been reports by several former and current employees of random drug testing being performed during their employment.

To avoid potential problems, it is best to prepare for the possibility of being drug tested and stop any use of illicit substances for several weeks before applying for a job.

For any employees who voluntarily disclose their substance abuse problems, Entergy will provide opportunities for rehabilitation as well as internal and external resources for assistance.
