No, Lufthansa does not hire felons. There may be some exceptions to this policy depending on the nature of the felony, as described below. Lufthansa also runs a background check on all new hires. Criminal charges related to any of the following offenses are automatic deal-breakers for Lufthansa:
Violation of aircraft piracy
Any offensive involving the use of a weapon or explosive
Any offensive that involves conveying false information and threats
Destruction of an aircraft or aircraft facility
Murder or assault with intent to murder
Espionage
Sedition
Kidnapping or hostage-taking
Treason
Rape or aggravated sexual abuse
Unlawful possession, use, sale, distribution, or manufacture of an explosive or weapon
Extortion
Armed robbery or felony unarmed robbery
Distribution of, or intent to distribute, a controlled substance
Willful destruction of property; importation or manufacture of a controlled substance; burglary; theft; dishonesty, fraud, or misrepresentation; possession or distribution of stolen property; aggravated assault; bribery; or illegal possession of a controlled substance punishable by a maximum term of imprisonment of more than one year, or any other crime classified as a felony that the Administrator determines indicates a propensity for placing contraband aboard an aircraft in return for money
