Yes, Subway hires felons. However, this is completely dependent upon the policies and desires of each individual franchise owner. Having a criminal record may not be an automatic exclusion of employment, particularly if your charges were for something on the smaller side or a long time ago.
All corporate Subway locations and some franchise locations will perform a background check prior to an offer of employment. This is particularly true for management positions. This background check will look for misdemeanor and felony convictions at both the state and federal levels.
On your application, be sure to account for all prior work history that is applicable to the job you are applying for. Be honest about where that work history came from (even if it came from time in prison). Sell the company on the fact that it doesn't have to train you.
