This question is about Verizon Communications.
No, Verizon no longer drug tests prior to employment. While Verizon suspended drug testing in 2018, employees are not allowed to come to work under the influence of any substances.
Verizon also reserves the right to drug test any employees who are suspected of being under the influence of drugs or substances while at work, talk about using drugs or substances, or have been involved in a workplace accident.
If a drug test is required at any point in time, Verizon will require you to go to a predetermined lab and submit a urine sample. Any positive results can mean a denial of workers' compensation claims and possible repercussions up to and including termination of employment.
