This question is about photographer resumes.
You describe freelance photography throughout a resume, from your profile summary to work experience to the skills section. Think of your resume as the perfect snapshot of your freelance photographer career.
The first place to introduce yourself as a freelance photographer is in the profile summary. Here is a great opportunity to introduce yourself and your specialty as a photographer.
For example, "CPP Certified freelance photographer, skilled in portrait photography, landscapes, and weddings. Shot and edited two weddings with commendations from both clients and multiple referrals."
The work experience section is slightly different from what you would normally see on a resume. Providing a list of your previous jobs does not work for a freelance photographer since you are self-employed.
Instead, your work experience section should state freelance photographers and include the number of years you have worked. After that, provide 4 to 6 bullet points of your overall accomplishments.
For example, "Shot two weddings. Received rave reviews and dozens of referrals from both clients."
The next section is the client section. Here you provide a list of bullet points of the various clients you have had, such as websites, magazines, newspapers, etc. You can add any additional achievements or certifications in writing that you may have earned along your way in the education section.
The niche section of the resume is intended to let the potential client know what type of photographer you're (e.g., portraits, real estate, nature). After that, include any social media or publications you may have and a detailed skills section outlining what you have touched on throughout your resume.
