This question is about jobs.
You can explain why your background is a good fit for a job by connecting specific parts of yourself to the requirements of the position. You may have lots of exciting experiences that don't relate to your current position. While that is great, it won't be helpful in a job interview, so don't focus on the "best" experience, focus on your "best fitting" experience.
One important factor in explaining how you will be a good fit for a job is being extremely clear in your wording to your potential employers. It is okay to directly say how and why your past experience will help you in this next opportunity.
You also don't have to always have something that is exactly relatable to the current position, so long as you can show how the skills gained there will relate to it. See the example below.
For my entire high school and college experience, I worked as a coach for many youth soccer leagues. I volunteered for the entire four years at my university with the under-nine boys' team. This helped me to learn how to successfully motivate my players to work together to have success.
It takes specific skills to be a successful coach, such as patience, organization, and the balance between respecting children and helping them. These skills are also incredibly important in becoming a preschool worker. I feel that I can successfully use my previously acquired skills from coaching to be a great worker at Little Hills Preschool.
