This question is about front end developer resumes.
You introduce yourself as a front-end developer by preparing a short script highlighting your skills, talents, and areas of expertise that are important to you as a front-end developer. We will go over the best way to do this and provide an example at the end.
There is an ideal formula on how to introduce yourself during an interview, according to Gayle McDowell, writer of Cracking the Interview Code. Overall, keep it short and on point, and don't forget to practice.
McDowell's formula for a successful introduction:
A sentence about your current or most recent role.
A few sentences about your (academic) background. What did you focus on?
Some sentences about your professional experience after school/university. Where did you work? What projects did you deal with? What were the typical challenges and tasks? Which technologies did you use?
Finish with a statement saying why you are seeking a new job opportunity and why you are interested in the role you applied for.
An example of a front end developer resume:
Hi, I'm [insert name], and I graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2015 with a degree in Computer Science. My interests are in Front End Engineering, and I love to create beautiful and performant products with delightful user experiences.
I previously worked at Company X, where I led the XYZ project. XYZ was a service for companies to make urban transportation expenses convenient. Companies can create employee groups, set ride policies, and share corporate payment methods with their employees.
I built the project with two other engineers over the period of three months on a React/Redux and Golang stack.
I'm interested in the Front End Engineer role at Company XYZ because I like working in this ridesharing space and creating products to improve the lives of users.
