How does Grammarly make money?

By Zippia Team - Feb. 1, 2023

Grammarly makes money by offering premium subscriptions and proofreading services. While Grammarly does have a free version for subscriptions, it still generates revenue from these two sources:

  • Premium subscriptions. Premium subscriptions are promoted to users who utilize the free option. These plans start at just $11.66 per month and go up to $29.95 per month.

They include advanced features like vocabulary enhancement recommendations, grammar, context, sentence structure assistance, and other features.

  • Proofreading services. Grammarly also generates revenue from its proofreading services. Users have three options for proofreading services, and the pricing depends on the speed of each service.

The faster the service is complete, the more it costs the user. Grammarly proofreading services come in three separate return times:

    • 30 minutes

    • 3 hours

    • 24 hours
