It is not especially hard to get into the Air Force, but it is extremely difficult to get into the Air Force Academy. These two are not the same, so they do have different requirements that are different levels of difficulty.

The acceptance rate to get into the Air Force Academy is 11.4%. This is extremely difficult, and there are many requirements to be one of those 11 out of 100 that are accepted. You need to excel academically, and also have great recommendations as well as other extracurricular activities.

To get into the Air Force, you need to complete basic training, which requires a certain level of physical fitness that may be hard to obtain. Along with this, there is an interviewing process, as the Air Force does not accept every candidate it receives, unlike other branches of the US military.
