How long does an MA certification take?
An MA certification takes one to two years, but this depends heavily on the program. To earn a Medical Assistant Certification (MA), you must complete an accredited medical assistant program and pass an exam.
To become a certified medical assistant, you must complete an accredited medical assistant program and pass either the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam administered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exam administered by the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
