How long does it take to be a construction inspector?
It takes about two to five years to become a construction inspector. A high school diploma is required to become a building inspector, but most employers may prefer that a person has either an associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or building inspection technology.
Typically companies look for construction inspectors to have at least two to three years of related experience, whether that is through education, work experience, or a combination of the two.
