How long does it take to become a behavioral health technician?

Certification for a behavioral health technician consists of a series of courses totaling 30 hours. After passing course exams, candidates may seek out work experiences to prepare them for work as health technicians.

All coursework required to become certified as a behavioral health technician can be accomplished through online programs. Candidates can work at their own pace to complete the coursework and take the end-of-course exams. Each exam can be taken multiple times if necessary without a designated waiting period.
