This question is about project manager certifications.
The time it takes to get a PMP certification varies greatly on how much studying and effort you put into preparing for the exam, but on average, it will take 8 to 12 weeks to prepare. The exam itself is four hours in length, and it will take around four to five days of turnaround to receive the results of the exam.
Much of the preparation for PMP certification can be gained through real-life work experience as a project manager. To take the exam, you must also complete 35 hours of formal project management education. This is satisfied through completing a PMP course that prepares you for the examination.
Once you complete the 35 hours of education and pass the exam, your certification will be valid for three years. THE PMI requires you to complete 60 hours of education to maintain your eligibility during these three years. After those three years, you may renew your certification by paying a recertification fee.
