This question is about UPS.
UPS drivers can work up to 60 hours in 7 days or up to 70 hours in 8 days. The actual scheduled work for a driver will vary based on the local delivery volume.
UPS drivers are regulated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Their regulations state that property-carrying drivers:
May drive a maximum of 11 hours after 10 consecutive hours off duty.
May not drive beyond the 14th consecutive hour after coming on duty, following 10 consecutive hours off duty. Off-duty time does not extend the 14 hours.
Must take a 30-minute break when they have driven for 8 cumulative hours without at least a 30-minute break. The break may be satisfied by any non-driving period of 30 consecutive minutes.
May not drive after 60 hours on duty in 7 days or 70 hours on duty in 8 consecutive days. A driver can restart a 7 or 8-day consecutive period after taking at least 34 hours off duty.
May split their required 10-hour off-duty period, as long as one off-duty period is at least 2 hours long and the other involves at least 7 consecutive hours spent in the sleeper berth. All sleeper berth pairings must add up to at least 10 hours.
Are allowed to extend the 11-hour maximum driving limit and 14-hour driving window by up to 2 hours when driving in adverse conditions.
Is exempt from the requirements of SS395.8 and SS395.11 if the driver operates within a 150-air-mile radius of the normal work reporting location, and the driver does not exceed a maximum duty period of 14 hours.
While the maximum hours a UPS driver can work in a week is set at 60 to 70 hours, the actual working hours may fluctuate depending on several factors.
It should be noted that, on average, full-time UPS drivers work about 8 to 12 hours daily, depending on the amount of deliveries assigned to them.
Part-time drivers usually work 3-4 hours each day, and workdays can vary (Monday - Friday) or (Tuesday - Saturday). Both part-time and full-time drivers have the opportunity for overtime hours.
While there are standards set by regulatory agencies concerning the maximum working hours for UPS drivers, actual working times will depend on individual circumstances, including delivery volume and location.
