The president often works an erratic schedule, and most days, their itineraries are tailored to the needs of the day. US President Donald Trump chose to forgo the 9-to-5 routine and instead was known for putting in long hours several days per week.

President Barack Obama was known to begin his day around 9:00 am after completing his morning workout. He also made sure to complete his day in time for dinner with his family. It was not uncommon for President Obama to continue his work day after his family went to sleep and often worked until 1:00 or 2:00am.
In contrast, President George W. Bush was known to be at the Oval Office by 6:45 am every morning.
