How much do Uber drivers make?
Uber drivers make a wide range of different salaries, but the average salary of an Uber driver is somewhere between $23,000 to $33,000 per year. Ultimately, it's up to each Uber driver to decide how many hours they want to work.
In terms of an hourly wage, Uber drivers average $15 to $22 an hour. There are exceptions to these salaries and wages, of course. On the high end, some Uber drivers can earn up to $60,000 per year, and some also, at times, can see an hourly wage of $30.
Uber drivers also see pay increases when there are surges. Pay surges happen when Uber is experiencing a high volume of requests for rides. The app notifies drivers of surge times; these represent opportunities to be paid above the standard rate for each ride.
In addition, Uber also does promotions for bonus pay. For example, Uber may state that if a driver completes 20 trips in one week, the driver will be awarded an additional $30.
Uber drivers are paid on a weekly basis. Their earnings, which can be viewed on the Uber driver app, are transferred into their bank account on one set day during a work week.
Uber drivers also have the option to be paid daily by using Instant Pay. This requires a fee of 50 cents each time it is used. Uber drivers have the option to use Instant Pay up to five times in one day.
