How much do Uber Eats drivers make?
Uber Eats drivers make a wide range of different salaries, however the average salary is somewhere between $17,500 to $35,000 per year. This is because it is up to each individual Uber Eats driver to decide how many hours they want to work.
In terms of an hourly wage, Uber Eats drivers average $16 to $23 an hour. There are exceptions to these salaries and wages, of course. On the high end, some Uber Eats drivers can earn up to $55,000 per year, and some at times can also see an hourly wage of close to $30.
Uber Eats drivers' pay can also fluctuate due to the amount they receive in tips from customers they have delivered to. Tips are encouraged by Uber Eats, but they are not required.
Uber Eats drivers also see pay increases when there are surges. Pay surges happen when Uber Eats is experiencing a high volume of requests for food deliveries. The app notifies drivers of surge times; these represent opportunities to be paid above the standard rate for each delivery.
In addition, Uber Eats also does promotions for bonus pay. For example, Uber Eats may state that if a driver completes 40 deliveries in one week, the driver will be awarded an additional $30.
Uber Eats drivers are paid on a weekly basis. Their earnings, which can be viewed on the Uber Eats driver app, are transferred into their bank account on one set day during a work week.
Uber Eats drivers also have the option to be paid daily by using Instant Pay. This requires a fee of 50 cents each time it is used. Uber drivers have the option to use Instant Pay up to five times in one day.
