This question is about human resources manager certifications.
To get a PHR certification, you must meet eligibility requirements and pass the exam. The Professional in Human Resources certification is not for entry-level human resource positions and has a few prerequisites.
There are three different ways to meet requirements. Firstly, you must have at least one year of experience in a professional HR position. Along with this, you also must hold at least a Bachelor's degree or higher. If you have a bachelor's degree but not a master's, you need at least two years of professional experience.
You can still get PHR certification for those without upper degrees; you just need at least four years of professional experience. If you meet these eligibility requirements, you may take the exam for PHR certification. The exam cost is $395, with an additional $100 as an application fee.
The exam typically lasts two hours. After completing and passing the exam, certification lasts for three years. To become recertified, you must prove you have at least 60 hours of continuing education credits over those three years, or you can retake the exam.
