This question is about radiologic technician certifications.
You can pursue ARRT certification, which rewards you with a Registered Technologist (RT) credential, by completing an accredited program. This step is not always required to begin working, but it can be helpful when seeking employment, as many employers favor it. In some states, it is required for licensure.
To be eligible to receive ARRT certification, you must first complete an accredited program. Typically, these programs can last anywhere from a few months to four years, depending on whether you seek a certificate, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree.
After graduating from the program, you must pass a final exam to complete certification. ARRT certification is valid for two years, after which you must complete one of two options to renew your certification: you can choose to complete 24 hours of continuing education or pass an examination.
