How to respond to a compliment at work

The best way to respond to a compliment at work is to respond with an honest Thank You. You don't need to do anything additionally, because acknowledging that someone complimented you is a polite thing to do. If you genuinely have a compliment for the person, you can respond with a compliment as well, but it is not necessary.

If the compliment is unwanted, such as an inappropriate comment from a coworker or customer done in a complimentary manner, you do not need to say Thank You. You can directly contact your HR department or management team if any inappropriate comments make you uncomfortable in your workspace.
