Massage therapist vs Chiropractor
Massage therapists are focused on soft tissue, such as muscle massage and other therapeutic techniques, while a chiropractor focuses their treatment on the alignment of the central system and spine.
Many massage therapists are expected to deal with both body and spirit. For the most part, a spa massage is focused on relaxation and relieving both physical and mental stress. Candles, calming music, dim lights, and incense are often part of the experience.
Chiropractors, on the other hand, work in a more clinical setting. They focus more on treating the spine, joints, and entire musculoskeletal system, including bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments, rather than only soft tissue.

Most massage therapists attend a massage therapy education program and complete between 330 to 500 hours of training. They must then pass an exam in order to receive a license and be able to practice in the state where they are certified to work in.
A chiropractor, on the other hand, is a doctor. This means they not only need to have a degree from a four-year undergraduate school, but they must also complete another four-year Doctor of Chiropractic Program. After receiving their degrees, depending on the state a chiropractor will work in, they must then take the NBC (National Board of Chiropractic Examiners) exam.
Earning potential between a massage therapist and a chiropractor is not reflective of educational credentials and training. Chiropractors, for example, have a median annual income of $75,000 compared to physical therapists, who have a median salary of $89,400 a year.
The job outlook is also more favorable for therapists compared to chiropractors, with therapists having a 16% job growth projection over the next decade compared to chiropractors with 11% projected job growth.
