What companies hire marine zoologists?

Companies in higher education, zoos, and state and federal agencies hire marine zoologists. People who are interested in working in research and education may pursue a doctorate's degree in marine zoology and teach at universities. Many marine zoologistsmay also work for zoos and aquariums, like the Monterey Bay Aquarium or the Central Park Zoo.

Outside of education and museums, most marine zoologists work for state or federal agencies. They may work in the field of marine preservation.
