This question is about kindergarten teacher.
You need a bachelor's degree in early childhood development to be a kindergarten teacher. Bachelor's degrees in elementary education, psychology, and education are also acceptable.
Depending on what program you are in, you may also have to complete a student teaching internship and obtain your teaching certificate.
A student teaching internship may be completed while you are obtaining your bachelor's degree. It typically takes one to two semesters. If you want to teach at public schools, you also need to get certified by the state in which you plan to become a kindergarten teacher.
However, if you plan on teaching in private schools, you may or may not have to obtain certification.
Many kindergarten teachers also further their education by obtaining a master's degree in early education. Some states require this in order to become a kindergarten teacher.
