What degrees does Walmart pay for?
Walmart pays for a high school diploma, and an associate's or bachelor's degree. Walmart offers all hourly employees a chance to enroll in its college tuition reimbursement program called LiveBetterU. This program is free to all employees and includes a range of universities and flexible degree programs to choose from.
Unlike many other corporate tuition reimbursement programs where students are charged initially and then have to jump through hoops to recoup their investment, Walmart pays the bill upfront. One exception is that it does not cover master's degree fees. However, there may be discounts available for certain master's programs.
To get started, once you're hired at Walmart you can create a LiveBetterU account using your Walmart employee ID. Creating a LiveBetterU account enables you to browse and compare offerings from participating universities and GED programs. Walmart also offers career assessment tests and career planning advice if you are not sure what you want to do.
If you're a high school student working at Walmart, then you are eligible for several opportunities. These include free ACT and SAT prep courses, up to seven hours of free college through LibveBetterY's College Start program, and later access to a debt-free college degree or technical certification in technology, business, or even supply chain management.
