What education is needed to become a speech pathologist?
The education needed to become a speech pathologist is a master's degree. Specifically, from a Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) accredited master's program in speech pathology. The entire process, including your undergraduate degree, is six years.
To become a speech-language pathologist, you must complete a minimum of an entry-level graduate degree (MA, MS, MEd) from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).
